On Thursday, August 15, 2019, the Feast of the Assumption, our beloved Popi, Salvatore Gregoire, passed away peacefully at home. Sal was born on April 6, 1937 in the Bronx, NY during the Great Depression. One of his most vivid childhood memories is when World War II ended and the whole city erupted in celebration. Sal began his career in the Navy, and upon his honorable discharge as a Korean War veteran, he became a ballroom dance instructor in the Catskills. Sal then worked his way from being a telephone repair man to an executive in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years. Sal married the love of his life, Dolores Faello, on March 12, 1967. They raised four children in the New York suburbs until they moved to Florida in 1982. Sal had a passion for entertaining others and building and fixing things. He could hold a room enthralled with his magic tricks, and he belted out Frank Sinatra's My Way with great gusto at family parties. He became a woodworker after retirement, lavishing his family with many beautiful gifts for their home. Sal was preceded in death by his father, Henry, mother Grace, and sister Grace. He is survived by his wife Dolores, children, Dorian Gregoire, Michele Gill and her husband Tracy, Nicole Rutherfurd and her husband Ed, Nancy Chrisman and her husband Eric, his sister Carol, and nine grandchildren: Gianna, Michael, Chelsie, Eddy, Parker, Andreus, Aaron, Ryan, and Kira. He loved his family deeply, and he will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019, at 10:30 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park with a reception and light lunch afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Saints Peter and Paul Church with a note stating "in Memory of Salvatore Gregoire," at 5300 Old Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, FL 32792.
