Salvador Mercado (affectionately known by family and friends as Salva or Sal) 83, passed away on August 7, 2017 in Winter Garden, FL. He is survived by his wife Raquel Mercado, his daughters Maria Mercado, Jeannette Mercado, Caridad Mercado, his sons Angel Jimenez and Jason Mercado, his grandchildren Kathy Jimenez, Madeline Jimenez, Myrna Pena, Jose Aguayo, Raquel Lynn Jimenez, Destiny Aguayo, Crystal Williams, Joshua Aguayo and Aiden Williams.

He was born in San German, Puerto Rico on June 23, 1934 to Carmen Acosta and Alphonso Mercado. He relocated to Brooklyn, NY where he met his sweetheart Raquel in the early 1960's and started a family. In 1991, they relocated to Sanford, FL where they decided to retire.

Salvador was a devoted family man & extreme boxing fanatic who found the funny in almost everything. He was a self-proclaimed comedian who never missed the opportunity to tell a joke, even if he told it 50 times before. Anytime he stepped out of the house it became routine to make a Publix run for two free cups of coffee. He would say "one for here, and one for the road" He loved children, music, singing (especially for the church), spicy food, hot dogs and talking about current events in Venezuela.

Rather than mourn the death of Salvador, he wanted his family and friends to celebrate his life. Please join us as we remember all of the happy times he shared with those he loved.
