Ruth M. Cascio, 71 of Deland, Florida passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015. Ruth was born April 29, 1944 in Elmira, New York to the late Earl and Regina Kasian Zimdahl.

Ruth is survived by her loving Husband, John T. Cascio, their son Chris Cascio, and her grandchildren Coleman and Carter Cascio. Ruth was also survived by Aunt Violet Kasian, cousins Carol and Lee Kasian, niece Michelle Sturlougson, and nephew Mark Cunningham. Ruth was predeceased by her two sisters Linda Zimdahl-Cunningham and Debra Zimdahl-Kaplan, Uncle Lee and Aunt Fran Kasian, cousin Barbara Kasian, Uncle John and Aunt Helen Kasian, cousins Joey and Mary Kasian, and Uncle George Zimdahl.

Ruth taught Elementary School in New York, California, Virginia and Florida. She moved to Florida and started her 25-year career in real estate working for various agencies including Coldwell Banker and ending with Lakes and Links. Ruth was a 15-year cancer survivor, often worked as a volunteer for fundraising, and served on the board at Florida Hospital.

A mass will be held in Ruth's honor at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 19th at The Church of the Annunciation; 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Donations may be made online at www.alz.org/cnfl/
