Ruth Campbell was born on March 6 th , 1944 in Hastings, Christ Church, Barbados to Ivan Seymour Cox and Maragaret Cox née Toppin. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness who was baptized in 1961. She enjoyed a few years of regular pioneer service with her then husband, Gregory Campbell, in Grenada, until starting a family in Barbados.

She enjoyed close companionship with her children and their families: Jonathan, Jennifer, Alyssa and Micah Campbell in Barbados. Jason, Linette and Jade Campbell in Florida, USA. Andrew and Julie Platt in Barbados. And especially with her precious daughter Jacqui Campbell, in Barbados, who provided loving care for many years as she battled with Alzheimer's.

She cherished her dear niece and her husband, Albert and Harriet Roche, as well as their three children and their families in Barbados: Christopher and Louisa Roche, Anthony, Alicia, Isaac and Jesca Da Silva, Graham, Anna-Lori, Jacob, Zara and Lucas Cumberbatch.

She is survived by her older brother, Richard Cox, and enjoyed an active childhood with her now deceased siblings: Joyce Hawes (UK), Betty Warren (Barbados) and Peggy Chouler (UK). She enjoyed warm association over many decades with her siblings, their families, and extended relatives.

Ruth passed away on Wednesday, August 12 th , 2026 in Lake Mary, Florida surrounded by family and friends.

She will be dearly missed by many congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses who have been a source of great comfort and strength over the years.

The memorial service will be a joyful reflection on the resurrection hope ahead with a special request from Ruth for no mourning colors to be worn.
