Rubye H. Harris, 85 of Windermere, Florida passed away quietly in her home on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Her early life was lived in Alabama where her father was a Sharecropper and later on as a Welder during the 2nd World War.

She moved to Florida with her family after the war. They settled in what is now West Orlando. She attended and graduated from Ocoee High School. Her secretarial skills (she could type 100 words per minute) was to be her career path. She met and married Charles Vernon Harris September 20, 1952. She was off and running with many new adventures. She travelled with her military husband and their children, to many different countries and experienced new and diverse cultures. She gave of herself to everyone in her family. She and Vernon retired in Windermere, to their cabin on the Lake. She loved this place and found her peace there.

She was predeceased by her daughter Marsha Karen Harris and her husband Charles Vernon Harris. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jewel Robbins, children, George Michael Jerome, Debra Lee Harris (Dennis), Charles Jason Harris and grandchildren, Naomi Jerome, Jasmine Jerome, Rose Jerome, Celeste Chamberlin, Wayne Graves, Justin Johnson, Dana Cardenas and great grandchildren, Abriana Vicioso, Chandler Jerome, Justin Spradley, Kyla Chamberlin, Charisma Johnson, Veronika Cardenas, great-great grandchildren, Keegan Graves, Sophia Spradley and many loving nieces and nephews.
