Ruby Joyce (Cohen) Midgett was born November 2 nd 1944 at her parent's home in Osteen, FL. She was

She married the love of her life in 1963, Robert Thomas Midgett, and had two children, Pamela Louise, and Robert Bannister, and resided at their residence in Sanford until June 2023. Robert passed in March of 2019 after 56 years of marriage.
Ruby J. (Cohen) Midgett, died October 20, 2023 at AdventHealth Hospice Hospital in Orange City, FL.
Ruby enjoyed traveling to wherever Robert, "Midgett" as he was known, was working as a union lineman. She was able to join him on occasion in various states throughout the U.S. while providing a stable home to her 2 children. In later years, she was able to travel with her grandson, Chris, during his younger years, and her close friend, Loretta, and many friends and family that were ready for an adventure. After her retirement as Secretary to the Chief of Police in Longwood, she was able to spend her time with her grandchildren, Raz and JP. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she could spend endless hours talking about them and showing their pictures.
Ruby was a great cook and enjoyed trying new recipes. She never learned to cook for 1, so if youstopped by her house, be prepared to either eat, or take food home with you. Ruby and Robert owned Cook's Corner, in Sanford for 2 years in the 1970's, which was known for their burritos. But you could also find Ruby in the kitchen whipping up a pot of chili or whatever she thought the customers would enjoy.
Sending out a special thanks to her big brother, Jim and his wife, Cleo, (sister by marriage) for the love and support you have shown throughout the last 5 months. I am sure she is smiling thinking of the many occasions you made trips to go eat blue crabs.
Ruby is survived by her Daughter, Pamela (Chuck) West of Debary, Son, Robert B. (Ginger) Midgett of Lake Mary, Grandsons, Christopher Hallman, Robert Rasmus Midgett and John Porter Midgett, and 3 great grandchildren, Dakota, Layne and Alexander.
