Roy G. Koester, 85, of Lake Mary, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Roy was born on April 16, 1931 in Toledo, OH to Roy and Margaret Koester.

He served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class of the 340th Armament Electronics Squadron/Bombardment Wing (SAC) in Sedalia, MS. Following his service he continued to work in various capacities in the electronics field in Marietta, GA; Hartford, CT; Cleveland, OH; and Tampa, FL.

Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who more than anything enjoyed spending time with his wife, his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne (Eustace) Koester, his son Gary Koester and wife Betsy of Lake Worth, FL, his daughter Karen (Koester) Scott and husband Terrell of Lake Mary, FL. He also is survived by his granddaughter Erin Scott of Phildelphia, PA and grandson Michael Koester of Houston, TX.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.

A Veteran's Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
