Obituary

Roy Eugene Anderson passed away on January 29, 2026, just one day shy of his 94th birthday.
He was born on January 30, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, to recent Swedish immigrants, Alrik
and Ruth Anderson. Roy's father passed away when Roy was just three years old. Growing up,
he worked many part-time jobs to help support his mother and sister.

While in high school, Roy learned the trade of drafting and began an apprenticeship with
CalTron Industries. Toward the end of high school, he met the love of his life, Margaret
Johnston. Roy and Margaret married in October 1954, just weeks after he completed a two-year
tour with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. They were married for 69 years and raised five
children together.

In 1973, Roy left CalTron (then Overhead Doors) and moved to Maitland, Florida. He and
Margaret opened Central Florida Window Products in College Park, later relocating the
business to Fairbanks in Winter Park. The couple ran the business side by side from 1973 until
2007. Roy loved the customers and the challenges that came with owning the shop, and
everyone who walked through the doors remembered him.

Roy and Margaret cherished time spent with their many friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
They were active members of the Hagar Viking Scandinavian Club and the German Club, and
they enjoyed attending dances at the Moose Lodge. Roy was an avid stamp collector who took
great pride in his collection and was a longtime member of the Central Florida Stamp Club.
Weekly dances and card games kept them busy and social well into their late eighties. They
were also devoted members of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church since 1973.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Margaret; his sister, Alice; his
daughter, Susan Anderson; his son-in-law, Paul Rounds; and his daughter-in-law, Denise
Anderson.

He is survived by his children, Loretta Ames; Barbara McNatt (Robert); Roy Anderson; and
Robert Anderson (Laura); his grandchildren, Jennifer Adamson, Erik Anderson, Bobby and
Lauren McNatt, and Mitchell, Brooke, Rachel, and Alrik Anderson; and five great-grandchildren.
