Rosemarie Hernandez, 85, left to be with her husband Joe and the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Born Rosemarie Antoinette DeRose in Elizabeth, New Jersey to second generation Italian immigrants, Rose was the fourth of six children, leaving behind her younger sister Frances Tartamella and youngest brother Joe DeRose. She met the love of her life, started a family and in 1974 they moved to Florida. Her passions had always been her church and camping with her family. The family spent many weekend and summer vacations camping around the country. After retirement they sold their home for a large trailer and 'camped' around the country until losing her husband in 2001.

Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a regular volunteer at her grandson's Catholic school for many years. Her interests centered around ALL of the kids. She was able to touch the lives of everyone she met, greeting them with her traditional Italian hug and kiss when she saw you.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Hernandez, her siblings Danny, Sonny and Lucy DeRose. She is survived by her sister Frances Tartamella (Jackie, Michael) and brother Joe DeRose (Ellen) her children Trina, Lisa Stapleton and Joey (Annette)-Frisco, TX, (Kayla-Gulfport, MS, Tyler (Amy)-Frisco, TX, her grandchildren Christopher (Rain), Erica Potter (Micah)-San Antonio, FL, Jordan and her great-grandchildren Levi Joseph,Faith Michael, Jirah Grace, Jubilee Brook, Mercy Rose, Riot Elizabeth and Nation Pierce.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, June 28, 2025 @ 11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 200 78th Ave NE, St Petersburg. Family will receive guests afterwards at daughter Lisa's home at 758 Captiva Ct Ne, St Petersburg.
