Rosalind Louise Russell, 70 took her final rest on Monday, September 10, 2018 in Orlando, Florida.

Rosalind and her twin, Roberta were born to the late Virginia Mae Russell and Alexander Russell Sr. on February 24, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Eastern High School in Middletown, KY.

Rosalind was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Virginia Russell, two brothers, Dennis Jerome Russell and Alexander Russell, Jr., and her twin Roberta Allene Clay (Russell). She is survived by her daughter Cyria Russell-Underwood; her granddaughters Jessica (Marcus) and Jada (TJ), and her grandson Jevin; and "GeGe" to Jamire, Jaslynn, and Joel; her sister Paula Denise, brothers George (Donna), Ray (Kathy), and Archie (Gretchen); her niece's Tabetha, Shelly, Jennifer, Gilandra, Briana, Gavonda, and Ebony; nephews Milton, Bernard, Robert, Ray Jr., and Nicholas.

Rosalind was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Middletown, KY where she a member of the Usher Ministry and the Voices of Faith choir. For the last 44 years she has been a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, Anchorage, KY. Rosalind was the 1st African-American Female Lieutenant in the State of Kentucky Department of a Corrections. She served as a Corrections Officer for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Florida for a total of 32 years.

Rosalind was always "unapologetically Rosalind". She left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met. She loved to engage and get to know everyone she met, and you would love her after she did so. You would always find her beautifully dressed and made up anywhere she went. She didn't just buy her fashion, she made it. Most times sewing or making beautiful clothes and hats. She was always there when you needed to talk, because you could always count on her to speak her mind. But most of all she was a loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother (MeMe), Great Grandmother (GeGe), Aunt and Friend.

Rosalind's Celebration of Life in Florida will be held September 22, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Hannibal Square Heritage Center 642 W. New England Avenue, Winter Park, FL. The Celebration of Life in Kentucky will be held September 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 11612 LeGrange Road, Anchorage KY.
