Rosa Marie was born in Dallas, Texas, on 8/24/1926. She grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma and graduated from Central High School there. In 1944, at age 18, Rosa moved with her mother (Mary Leland) and Father (C.H. Leland) to St. Petersburg, FL. Once settled in St. Pete she went to work at the Veteran�s Hospital/ Veteran�s Administration at the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach. She continued working for the U. S. Government as a Congressional aide in Washington, DC in the late 1940�s. In the 1950�s, she returned to St. Pete and worked at L.B. Sowell Floor Coverings where she met and married Jim Brown in 1958. The Brown�s welcomed their son, Christopher, to the family on 6/5/1961. In late 1962, Rosa went to work at the St. Pete Police Dept. She retired in 1992 after 30 years in the Pinellas County law enforcement and judicial system. Rosa lovingly gave herself in retirement to helping children read and write ( Gulfport Elementary & Bear Creek Elementary) as a volunteer classroom aide. She also dedicated to her church, St. Lukes United Methodist, where she donated her time to many administrative and leadership tasks. Her greatest life�s loves involved raising a very thankful son (Chris Brown), and always preciously entertaining delightfully awed grandchildren (Sierra and Tyler Brown). WE ALL will always dearly love our Momma/Grandma ROSA!

Rosa is lovingly survived by Chirstoper Dale Brown (son), Patricia Parzych Brown (daughter-in-law), Sierra Noel Brown (granddaughter), and Tyler Jamison Brown (grandson).

Receiving of friends will be from 4-7 PM October 10, 2015 with a service to be held at 5:30PM at the funeral home
