Ronald Hope Rhodes 1923-2017 died peacefully August 16th at his home in Sanford, FL. His family includes his wife of 45 years, Hazel; sons, Richard Brian, Michael; daughter Bobbilee; granddaughter Guinevere (Chris); gr-grandchildren, Adrianne and Bryan; step-children, Susan Beske (Mike) and Steven Duemer (Susan); six grandsons, Tyler, Nicholas, Buddy, Dustin, Matthew and Justin.
During WWII, he served 4 years with the U.S. Army of Combat Engineers, 2 years of which were spent in the European Theater of Operations. His life career was in the railroad with Seaboard, CSX and Amtrak. His latter working years (30+) he organized and chartered Washington DC trips for the Palm Beach County School Safety Patrol.
He loved to play tennis, watch sports, travel the world and was well known for writing humorous limericks.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Rolling Hills Moravian Church 1525 SR 434 W Longwood, FL 32750 on August 26th at 1:00 p.m. He will be honorably laid to rest at Bushnell National Cemetery.
