Ronald Charles Pilgrim, 46, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, in Maitland, Florida. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on April 6, 1971, to the late Charles Willis Pilgrim and Joyce Cuchens Pilgrim. Ron graduated from Niceville High School in 1989 and went on to graduate from the University of Florida in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. In 2002, Ron received his MBA from the Crummer School at Rollins College. For the past 11 years, Ron has been employed by Orange County Public Schools, most recently as the Senior Executive Director, Human Resources.


Ron was a loving and devoted father and an active participant in his children's activities. Ron had a passion for coaching youth and touched many as a lacrosse coach in area leagues. Ron also enjoyed being on the water, playing golf and other outdoor activities.


Ron is by survived by his wife of 22 years, Kristin Myers Pilgrim; children, Charles Myers Pilgrim, Kate Paisley Pilgrim, and Paul Myers Pilgrim; brother, Donald Ray Foster (Beverly Jo) and sisters, Sharon Pilgrim Bolton (Kenneth) and Tina Pilgrim Joel (Robert); mother-in-law, Bonnie Mizell (Richard); father-in-law, Paul Myers (Donna); sisters-in-law, Megan Baptist (Robert) and Olivia Myers; brother-in-law, John Mizell (Tara); as well as many nieces and nephews.


Ron will be remembered by his family and many friends for his gentle nature, as well as his amazing wit and sense of humor.


A memorial service will take place at All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park, Florida on Monday, January 22 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
