Ronald Holmes, age 82, sadly left this world on September 13th surrounded by family. A man of immense kindness and knowledge, he left a mark on all those who met him that will not soon be forgotten.
Born on July 13th 1942 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Andrew and Mary, Ronald always had the ambition to grow and reach new heights. After meeting his wife Norma, not only did they go on to marry and start their family but he simultaneously earned a degree from Oxford University. If that wasn't ambitious enough he then took his family on an adventure of a lifetime by emigrating to the United States, working several different engineering jobs, and traveling the country before settling in Orlando, Florida, where he remained with his family until his final days.
To his family he'll be remembered as an inventor, a chef, a driving instructor, a boat captain and a wonderful confidant. To the rest of the world, I'm sure they could say the same thing.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma; his three sons, Steven (Ruth), David, and Paul (Michelle); his nine grandchildren, Connor (Jacqueline), Brenden, Veronica, Graycen (Weston), HopeAnne, Clayton, Quin, Jackson, and Anaka, and his three great-grandchildren, Jack, Ian, and Rhys.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, October 19th, at 11:00 am at DeGusipe's funeral home, followed by a reception. All are welcome to come and celebrate Ronald's life and legacy.
