Obituary

Ronald Bruce Harnage, passed away on October 11, 2018, at the age of 57, at his home in Longwood, Florida. He was born May 1, 1961, in Orlando, Florida to Ronald and Ella Maxine (Helms). Bruce was the eldest of four sons. His mother and brothers remember many funny stories of the four activite boys growing up. He attended Forest Lake Academy, and then Southern Adventist University where he earned a degree in business. He made many lifelong friends while attending school. Bruce began his career in medical and pharmaceutical sales soon after graduation. He lived in Miami from 1986 to 1995, then moved to Longwood.

He married Debbie Giles on April 22, 2001. They raised their son, Ben, age 14, who currently attends Forest Lake Academy. Bruce had a successful career with Merck Pharmaceuticals, where he developed relationships with colleagues and clients. Bruce touched many lives by his genuine caring for other people, dry sense of humor, and infectious laugh.

Bruce did everything with enthusiasm. In his spare time, he played golf, enjoyed the beach, spending time with family and friends and attending any kind of sporting event. He was heavily involved in the local community, serving on the City of Longwood's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. He was an active member of the Florida Hospital Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he served as a greeter for many years and had many friends.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, son Ben, mother Maxine, brothers Terry (Chris), Tim (Noreen), Rob (Dana), 10 nieces and nephews, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father Ron.

Bruce was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, he never met a stranger , and always could find the best in any situation. His faith and humanity were evident in every aspect of his life and he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
