Roland "Sandy" Lane passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023 in Altamonte Springs, Florida at the age of 85. He is survived by his daughters, Cherita McDonough (Oviedo, FL), Andrea Lane (Casselberry, FL), Kimberly Lane Evetts (Escondido, CA) and grandchildren, Hillary McDonough, Chrysta Klaczyk and Terrah Lane. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beatriz Lane, and his parents, Roland "Rolly" and Rita Lane and grandson, Hunter Averett.


Sandy was born in Stamford, Connecticut on May 17, 1937 and graduated from Stamford High School. He met Bea in 1968, and they married in 1969. They remained in Stamford until 1978 when they moved to Casselberry, Florida. At that time, Sandy was a draftsman for Martin Marietta. Upon retirement from drafting jobs, he became a courier for several Orlando area banks where he made countless friends and loved to tell stories of his visits to the various offices he'd visit for his job.


He loved his memories of Stamford and his family there. He enjoyed air shows and antique cars. He loved Bea deeply and lived his life to make her happy. He adored his daughters and had a very special place in his heart for Hillary.


A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at DeGusipe Funeral Home located at 9001 Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751.
