Obituary

Robert "Wazoo" Joseph Stankowski, 79, peacefully passed away on March 12, 2026, in Ocoee, Florida, surrounded by the love from his wife, Evelyn Stankowski, and their daughter, Jennifer Parsons.

Robert was born on August 2, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Robert Stankowski and Catherine Sheridan.

Over the course of his life, Bob became known for his humor, his grit, his insatiable desire to learn and to teach, and his steadfast dedication to his family.

He spent much of his life working as an electrician, sharing his love for his craft both on job sites and in the classroom, where he taught future electricians completing their own apprenticeships in hopes of becoming journeymen. Those who knew him best knew that what mattered the most to him was family, learning, sharing his knowledge, and his hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, spending a day at the range, and being with his family, including his beloved cat, Oliver. Bob had a way of looking at the bright side, even when things became challenging.

Although Bob had a wild and free spirit in his younger years, he found his true home when he met the love of his life, Evelyn. Over the course of their forty-two years together, they were able to create a beautiful life, even while facing enormous challenges at times. From their love came their daughter, Jennifer, who meant the world to Bob. Being a husband and a father were roles that he held close to his heart despite his tough exterior. Bob's love for his family was constant and unwavering, and his and Evelyn's love and commitment to one another carried them through until the very end.

Bob's life was a testament to his dedication to his career, his craft, and most of all, his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Stankowski; his daughter, Jennifer Parsons; his grandson, Carter Parsons; his sister, Elaine Tunsel; and his nephew, Ryan Tunsel, along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Catherine Stankowski; and his sisters Veronica and Annie Stankowski.

Though he is gone, the lessons he shared, his wisdom and humor, and the love he gave will live on in the family he cherished and in all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service will be held on March 20, 2026, at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Ocoee, Florida, from 2 until 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the NRA Ring of Freedom in Bob's name and memory.
