Robert W. "Bob" Olsen died peacefully in his home on March 28, 2016 in Mt Plymouth, Florida at the age of 89.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Doris of 45 years. Daughters Jeannie Powers, Amy Olsen, Son Robert & Daughter-in-law Lillian Olsen. Grandchildren Candace, Courtney, Danielle and Robert. Step Children, Barbara/Bill Schwartz, Fredrick William Schaar and Cynthia Frye. Step Grandchildren Allen, Tracy, Matthew, Jill, Josh and twelve great grandchildren.

Bob was born on 12/29/1926 in Mt. Greenwood, IL to John & Jennie Olsen who came to United States from Norway. He predeceased by his son Gary, his parents, and his brothers Harry, Oscar, Norman, and Art.

Bob loved his dogs Cookie, Oskie and little Mojo.
Bob served his country in the Merchant Marines and US Navy during WW2 with honorable discharge.

Bob moved his family to Casselberry, FL where he worked in construction and later became a General Contractor. He built many homes and office buildings throughout Central Florida, including three homes for himself and wife Doris, whom he married on July 2nd, 1970. The last home he built was their retirement home located in Mt. Plymouth, FL.

Bob's hobbies and interests included golfing, fishing/boating and spending time with his loving wife Doris. Bob was an avid golfer who was a member at Mt. Plymouth Golf Club where he was the Club Champion. He was also a member of Mt. Dora Country Club. Many people compared him to Arnold Palmer not just by his game but also by his looks.

Bob loved the outdoors doors, going on cruises and trips with Doris. Bob was someone who loved his family and who was very passionate about the success of ALL his children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life is scheduled for April 29, 2016 at 4:00pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church located in Mt. Dora, Florida. Father Anthony will officiate the ceremony.
