Alan Kolb, 63, passed away on May 15th surrounded by family after battling Leukemia for the past year. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, at a young age his family was relocated to Central Florida, where he has lived in the area ever since. After graduating from Boone High School in 1971, he was drafted in the U.S. Army and served until being honorably discharged 2 years later. He would spend the next 33 years of his professional career working in the Carpenter's Union, Local 1905, and with various construction companies throughout the Southeast. In their 28 years of marriage, he and wife Jeanie raised three children: Sarah, Kari and Alan Jr. He was able to share his passion for baseball with the community and will forever be remembered for his dedication to the local teams. He was a coach for many years in College Park Little League and has inspired countless young men. His dynamic personality, sense of humor and loyalty will be greatly missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will take place at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Maitland on Friday, May 19th from 5pm-7pm accompanied by a funeral mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Saturday, May 20th at 11:30am.
