Obituary

Robert Emmett Kane was born on November 4th, 1955, in the back seat of a police car in Hoboken NJ. Robert lived in Wanaque NJ through his high school graduation, where he was an avid sportsman. He worked as a bouncer in several nightclubs in northern New Jersey. Robert moved to Florida in the 1980's and began working for the City of Seminole. He retired after 30 years, most recently working in the Building Department and as a Fire Inspector.

Robert is survived by his brother, Wayne E. (Vicki) Kane of Palmetto FL and his brother Michael F. (Louise) Kane of Nokomis, FL. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, George Stanmore and his family, as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Edward F. Kane and Sammy C. Kane, of Treasure Island FL.

Services will be held on May 5, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home (formerly R. Lee Williams Funeral Home), 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL. Per his wishes, Robert was cremated and his ashes will be embedded into a memorial concrete mold, which will become part of a natural reef in the Gulf of Mexico.
