Obituary

Robert Wayne Hamel, 85 passed away on July 25, 2020.
August 14, 2020 a Memorial Service and viewing at the funeral home will be held at 10:00AM – 11:00AM with a short service afterwards. An internment the same day at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 2:00PM.
Robert, "Grandpa Bob" as he was affectionately known, is survived by all four of his stepchildren in Florida. Diana Sudduth of St. Petersburg, Perry Sudduth (wife Lori) of Pinellas Park, Jerry Sudduth (wife Ursula) of Deerfield Beach), and Richard Sudduth (wife Beth) of Seminole. And seven grandchildren (Sarah, Amanda, Andre, David, Christian, Kaitlyn, and Arianna).
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary, of 50 years. They resided in St. Petersburg, FL after retiring from the Air Force. Both were actively involved in the Transfiguration Catholic church by singing in the choir for many years. Both also, loved camping trips with in their RV with family and the Scouts.
He loved his family and friends by volunteering his time with the Knights of Columbus. He was involved with Boy Scouts as Scout Master for his children and then later to volunteer with Troop 305. Other hobbies were amateur radio (Ham Radio) and model railroading. He worked hard on his lawn and enjoyed taking walks around his neighborhood. As of late, his ways to pass the time were his interest in Crossword and Sudoku puzzles while drinking a cup of coffee and always having a cat on his lap.
He retired from the Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant after 25-years of service. Retired again as an Electronic Technician from Raytheon in Largo Florida.
A final note; as a Ham-Radio operator Bob Hamel, WA4CVC - he is now a silent key.
