Robert Herskell Ewers, affectionately known as "Robbie" was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015. Robert was born on Friday, June 23rd, 1939 in Pratville, Jamaica West Indies to David and Anita Ewers. He was the youngest of five children and was a driven family oriented man.
Robert completed his childhood, middle and high school education in Jamaica. After passing the Jamaican "Common Entrance Exam", he attended Holmwood Technical School. After graduating, he worked at the West Indies Sugar Company in Moneymusk for several years. While there, he came across a fine young lady that he could not pass up. He had a friend setup a way for them to meet and came up with a clever way to introduce himself by saying, " Hi, I'm Ewers, would you be mine!" That lady fell for the clever line, and as they, say the rest is history. At the time of his passing, Robert and Linda had been married for almost 49 years.
From an early age, Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Robert, an active and ardent member of Saint Jude Anglican Church, he was a cross bearer and sang in the senior choir. He proudly served as a deacon and held various positions in various churches.
After migrating to the United States, Robert held various career positions. Not loved by bugs as he was business owner of JB&L Pest Control Exterminator in Somerset, New Jersey. After moving to Florida he then became owner of West Indian American Bakery. He then worked at Walt Disney World as a pest control exterminator where he later retired.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, seven children, twelve grandchildren, two sisters, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
