Robert Harris Caldwell, Jr. “Bobby” Passed at home with his loving family beside him on Friday August 28, 2026 @ 7:36am. He fought a long battle with cancer. 

Robert Harris Caldwell, Jr., lovingly known as “Bobby,” was born on December 25, 1951, in Charlotte, NC.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Caldwell; his sister, Joyce Dean Pass; his mother Rosea Easter; and his grandson, Kyle Grinage.

Bobby is survived by his wife of over 55 wonderful years, Vera Miller Caldwell; his son, Robert (Robby) Caldwell III of Winter Springs, FL; and his daughter, Sherry Caldwell of Sanford, FL.

He is also survived by his brother, Jeff Caldwell of Deltona, FL; his brother, Walter Berry, and his wife, Nadria; and his nephew, Palmer, of Richmond, Virginia.

His grandchildren include Sebastian J.C. Caldwell (Ashley, wife), Elijah Gallus, Emma Caldwell, Robbie Grinage, Mehgan Grinage, Tristan, Christopher Weintraub, and Bailey Adams.

Bobby also loved his family with all his heart unconditionally, including his loved granddaughters Janae Munoz, Trinity Munoz, Trinity Brooks, Janyla Merthie, Alyssa Braun, Imani Kimberly-Cross, Frankie Puegero, and Daisy Cartagena. We were blessed beyond measure.

Bobby was in the fire sprinkler industry for over 55 years. He first started at Wiginton Fire Sprinklers. He left there and became partners with Lenny Hollis and Jacqueline Tackett, and together they started a company called Southern Fire Protection of Orlando in 1990. Their company prospered and grew beyond their expectations. Bobby was very proud to be a part of this company and to be one of its owner-operators. He retired in 2018 from Southern Fire Protection. Bobby also taught classes at SCC.

Bobby had many hobbies. He loved woodworking, building cradles and rocking horses, cabinets, carvings, working on old cars, and playing golf and watching NASCAR. He coached Little League baseball and Pop Warner football and attended all of his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and school activities. Bobby loved being a part of their lives and watching them grow and meet their goals. He attended everything possible.

Many family trips to the mountains, and every state park we could go to. Bobby and I also took 4 RV trips that we cherished every moment. It filled Bobby’s life with love and laughter. We were so very blessed.

Bobby had a saying, “Better seen than viewed,” and we made that happen by opening our home up to hundreds of family and friends who came to our home to see him and tell him how much he meant to them and how much he was loved by them. He could see and hear you all. So thank you to each and every one of you who could make it to be with Bobby. It meant so much to him and all of our family. The outpouring of love and respect shown to him was remarkable.

Walter, his brother, flew in from Richmond, VA, to make sure he saw his brother and had special time with him. Nadria and Palmer were there in love and spirit and on FaceTime. We were blessed with a wonderful family.

Special thanks to my brother, Donnie Miller, his wife, Diane, and their son, Don, for being here the whole time, day and night, staying by his bedside all night, and caring and loving him.

Thank you to Jeff, his brother, for being there also every day, along with many friends, including Johnny Spolski and Lenny Hollis. Our family thanks all of you for all your love and support.

Bobby’s life was full of love and purpose and was well lived. 

I will love you forever, Bobby, and see you again one day. God received a special angel when He took you home. Rest in Peace my love forever.
