Robert Travis "Bud" Bedle was born June 1, 1931 in East Orange, New Jersey to Oradel and Elmer Travis Bley. He was later adopted by his step-father, Frank S. Bedle. He was the youngest of three children, having two older sisters, Mariam and Audry.

Bud attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky., where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. He later earned his Master's Degree in Music Education from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.

While at Asbury, Bud met the love of his life, Frankie Osborne. After dating for two years, they were married in 1953 and moved to Pensacola, FL. Bud was the Minister of Music and Youth and Frankie was his accompanist at Richards Memorial Methodist Church. Their ministry together continued throughout their lives at various churches. For the last 10 years, they served as small group leaders, elders and in many other supportive roles.

Together, they have three children, Diana (husband Andrew) Roberts, Doug and Denise (husband Tony) Cowan and were devoted to training them up to love the Lord and His word. He was a loving father and perfect example of God's unconditional love.

Bud and Frankie's eight grandchildren (7 boys and 1 girl) brought them great joy and their joy continued with three great-grandchildren. They all loved their Papa, listening to his funny stories and playing games with him.

Bud was the Choral Director at Winter Park High School from 1969-1980 and was dearly loved by his students. Many kept in contact with him and told him how much he had impacted their lives.

Bud was always an encourager. His passion was to know God and to make Him known. He was always ready to share Jesus love and to pray for others.

Bud and Frankie were married for 67 years. On June 14, 2020, Frankie moved to her heavenly home and Bud followed her to heaven two-and-a-half weeks later, on July 3, 2020. We will miss them greatly, but know that they are in our future and we will see them again.
