Bob Sandford, son of Arthur and Anna Sandford, was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Trenton, N.J., and went to be with the Lord on Oct. 27, 2018.

Bob married the love of his life, Alma Mary Moon Sandford, on Sept. 15, 1951. The couple had four children: Robert Edward Sandford(deceased); William J Sandford of Concord, N.C., and his wife Evelyn Sandford; Debra Ann Sandford Smith of Sachse, Texas; and Cathy Lynn Sandford Dickey and her husband Matthew Dickey of Winter Garden, Fla. Bob is also survived by a sister, Kay Sandford MacCotter, of Whiting, N.J, and he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jim Sandford of CA and Richard "Dick" Sandford of MD.; in addition to six grandchildren and one great grandson: Robert E. Sandford, Daniel J. Sandford, Jordan R. Hajec, Colby L. Hajec, Tyler M. Dickey, Zachary J. Dickey and Kohen Sandford.

Bob was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He also qualified for his seamanship license with the Coast Guard. After discharge, Bob worked as a television repairman for a short while and then joined RCA in Camden, N.J., in 1953. He retired from RCA in 1983 before joining Digital Corporation, where he worked for an additional 10 years before retiring to Leesburg, Fla.

Though he was an active Ham Radio enthusiast for many years, Bob's hobbies usually found him outdoors playing golf or practicing on the gun range. Over the years, he also ran in a number of marathons. Bob was a baseball pitcher in high school and loved to watch the game whenever he could. More than anything, Bob enjoyed being around his family and was always there for them. You could not ask for a more caring father, grandfather or friend. He was a huge part of his family's lives until the end, and will be greatly missed.

A memorial Mass will be held in the spring of 2019 in Winter Garden, Fla.
