Obituary

Richard "Dick" Eric Radtke, 79, of Sanford Florida passed away June 6, 2017 due to complications from pneumonia and multiple myeloma at Village on the Green Health Center, Longwood Florida. Dick grew up in Watertown MA and graduated from Northeastern University with his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. He then was drafted as a commissioned officer into the US Army Reserve Signal Corp leaving as a First Lieutenant. He moved to Burlington MA after the service and worked 30 years at various companies in the Greater Boston area. He then proceeded to go back to Simmons College to receive his Master of Science in Information & Library Sciences. For the next 11 years, Dick was a librarian for the Town of Sharon, MA. He moved to Florida in 2008 after retirement.

He is predeceased by his parents Eric and Mary (Davidson) Radtke, 2 ex-wives: Susan Morris and Virginia Radtke, and his 3 beloved dogs over the years: Snoopy, Tia, and Nellie.

Dick leaves behind his daughter, Wendy Paquette, her husband, Raymond, and grand daughter Nicole all whom he lived with along with his beloved grand dogs, Cupcake and Tank.

Dick was a Skeptic and was active member of the Greater Boston Humanists. In his younger days he belonged to mountain climbing clubs. Later on he was an advocate and teacher of Literacy programs in the Burlington area. Dick served with the Burlington Library Committee. After his move to Florida, Dick won volunteer awards for his time at the Seminole County Northwest Branch Library in Lake Mary. He was a regular visitor to Sanford's Paw Park with Cupcake for years.

DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory in Sanford has prepared Dick for the interment of his ashes at the Mt Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge MA at a later date.
