Richard (Rik) Allen Myers, 59, of Sanford, Florida passed away peacefully at home on August 11th, 2019.
He was born in Sanford, Fl on June 18, 1960 to Bud and Ann Myers. He was a life long resident of Central Florida and attended Seminole High,
Rik was a retired fireman. He started his fire service volunteering at Longwood Fire Department and officially became a paid firefighter October 1st, 1984. Rik retired as an Engineer from LFD on July 22nd, 2003.
He had several hobbies, including photography, motorcycle riding, and trains. He would often travel to take pictures of train engines; with many hours spent at Folkston, GA's Train Funnel. He was a member of the Weekday Riders Club and loved traveling with his Harley family. It was on one of these trips that he met his wife and angel, Tabitha. Rik also enjoyed spending time with his parents and four brothers at the family's homestead on Lake Jessup.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Rik is survived by his wife, Tabitha and was preceded in death by his father, Elgin (Bud) H. Myers, Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Ann. His four brothers, Buddy, David, Terry, and Butch and their spouses. His Nephews Brad, Matt, T.J., Jake, D.J. His Nieces Brittany, Taylor, Ella Rae, and Kayla.
A greeting of friends and family is scheduled for Friday, August 16th, at 1:00 followed by a celebration of life starting at 2:00 at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 905 Laurel Ave Sanford Fl .32771.
