Richard George Laxner Sr., 84, of Sanford, Florida passed away March 8th, 2014. Mr. Laxner was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 29, 1929. He is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Marie Laxner and survived by his loving wife, Marie Laxner and 2 sons, Michael (Jennifer) and Richard Jr. along with 6 grandchildren: David Wallace, Aaron, Rachel, Laura, Michael, and step-daughter Melissa. He also is survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Tristan, Emma, Vincent, Noah and Aiden.
Richard retired from the Chicago Police department after 25 years of service. He married his wife, Marie on June 11, 1949 at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois after serving in the Army.
Max, Richard's dog will miss his master.

There will be a public visitation on March 11, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Sanford, Florida with the prayer service starting at 7:00 pm.
On Wednesday March 12, 2014 a Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mr. Laxner at 11:00 am at All Souls Catholic Church on Hwy. 46 in Sanford, Florida followed by a graveside service at 12:30 pm at the All Souls Cemetery in Sanford, Florida.
