Obituary

Our beloved Richard "Rick" Cole took his peaceful journey to Heaven surrounded by family on November 29, 2016 at the age of 49 – one month before his 50th birthday. Although gone too soon, we are comforted knowing we have one more wondrous angel watching over us.
Rick leaves to cherish his memory his parents; Donna and Jordan Cole, his sisters, Dr. Wendy Cora and Mrs. Lisa Mendez, and his son, Michael James Cole. Rick has an extended loving family of aunts, uncles, nieces, brothers' in law, and cousins all for whom his presence will be deeply missed. He is predeceased by his beloved grandparents James and Marjorie Minto and Jordan and Estelle Cole who now hold him in their arms in Heaven where he is free from pain, in eternal peace, laughing and reminiscing with all of our family and friends who went before him.
Rick was born in Winter Park, FL on December 29, 1966 to Donna Minto Cole. At the tender age of 6, he was adopted by Jordan Cole who he would call dad for the rest of his life. Jordan knew Rick as his "only son" and their relationship was a gift to them both. Rick graduated Lake Howell High School in 1982 and went on to build a lucrative career fabricating carburetors for vehicles including Nascar Cup Cars as part owner/employee of BLP. Rick's expertise was well known in the industry as people from all over the country, even as far as Puerto Rico sought his talent.
Rick was a devoted father to his son Michael who he looked upon as his greatest accomplishment. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, working on cars, eating out, and spending time out of doors with his friends, most of whom he knew from childhood. Rick was very close to his family and few things entertained him more than the opportunity to tease his little nieces Gabby & Bella. Family vacations, family dinners, and simply being in his presence as he cracked jokes and filled the room with laughter was a blessing to us all. Although his faith was found later in his adult life, Rick was a spiritual man and involved in his church – Orlando Family Church. To say he will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him is an understatement.
At this time, no formal service has been scheduled as Rick's family mourns him privately. A formal service will be scheduled in the New Year and details shared later.
And he will raise you up on eagles' wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand
