Richard (Dick) Chesser died peacefully in Orlando, Fl. at the age of 81.

Richard is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Marie of Lake Mary Fl., son Richard Jr (Brenda) of Port Orange FL, daughter Elizabeth.Legg (Bennie) of Sanford FL, Three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Daugherty of Sanford FL and his father Herbert Chesser of Starke FL.

Richard was born on Manhattan, New York. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Starke FL. where Richard grew up. He met his wife Mary of 62 years while working at Publix Supermarket. In 1971 they moved to Sanford FL. where Richard retired from Publix as a produce manager. He went onto work for Stromberg Carlson and eventually with the City of Sanford, which he retired from also.

Besides family, which was his first love, he also enjoyed golf, camping, boating and spending time at either the beach or the mountains..

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, July 22nd at DeGusipe Funeral Home. Viewing at 11 am, service at 12:00 PM with graveside service to follow.

Dr, George Sledd and Andy Wilson will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Richards life.
