Obituary

Renee Ann Schacht, 66, formally of Racine, Wisconsin passed away Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at Orlando Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born on September 6th, 1948 in Racine to parents Gordon and Dorothy Freres.

She attended St. Catherine's High School and graduated in 1967. A short time later, she married Michael Schacht, and in March of 1969 she gave birth to their son Brett Schacht. Renee worked at S.C. Johnson Wax and worked many years at Milaeger's in Sturtevant where she really shined as a Floral Designer. In 2008 Renee moved to Orlando, Florida so she could be closer to her son and two granddaughters.

Growing up Brett, her only child, was her delight. She was involved in all of his activities and followed him around the state of Wisconsin and Illinois where he raced motocross for 15 years. She almost never missed a race. Brett says there was never a race where he didn't see her at different parts of the track yelling and cheering him on! Her best Mother's day gifts where big trophies and first place finishes.

In 1993, Stephanie Schacht and in 1996, Kelsey Schacht entered her life as her granddaughters. She loved those girls with all her heart. She spent many days with them at the zoo, pumpkin farms, parks, the swimming pool, and even the theme parks in Orlando. Renee loved to take pictures of her family and it shows by the numerous bins of photographs of beautiful memories she left behind. She would sometimes just spread photos out on the floor and enjoy all the memories of her family.

Renee was a beautiful and caring person. She made friends wherever she would go. She lived a beautiful life but her family was not ready to let her go. She is missed by us all as we are in heartache over her loss. Time will heal the pain but the memories we have of her will live in us forever and ever.

Renee is survived by her son Brett (Stacey) Schacht, her grandchildren Stephanie Schacht, Kelsey Schacht, McKayla and Parker Riggs. She is further survived by her youngest sister Karen Johnson.

Renee is preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Dorothy Freres, her oldest sister Lynn Borke and her beloved cat, Precious.

Mom, I love you so much and already miss you like crazy!

The Lord saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you
And whispered,
'Come with me'
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Your beautiful smile at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove
He always takes the best.
It's lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day.
Our lives just aren't the same
Ever since you went away.
When days are sad and lonely
And everything goes wrong
We hear you gently whisper,
'Cheer up and carry on.'
Each time we see your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
'Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping,
We'll meet again someday.' -unknown
