Obituary of Reinaldo D. Gallego
It is with great sadness that the family of Reinaldo De Jesus Gallego announces his passing due to long endured health complications, at Advent Health Hospital Altamonte, on the evening of Thursday, September 5, 2019, surrounded by his beloved family, at 71 years of age.
Reinaldo will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Luz Emerita Gallego of Lake Mary, FL; and his children, Andrea Gallego-Patrick, her husband Michael Allen Patrick, and their son, Michael Aidan Patrick, of Sanford, FL; Leandra Angelica Gallego and Fiance Philip Penley of Lake Mary, FL; Jazlyn Gallego of Lake Mary, FL; Consuelo Patricia Gallego-Yepez, her husband Charles Yepez, and children Christian Carter Yepez and Rita Carina Yepez, of Queens, New York. He is also survived by his siblings: Nohemi Gallego (Javier), Ana Elvia Gallego, Alba Gallego, Cecilia Gallego, Amanda "Emma" Gallego (Alfonso), Yolanda Gallego, Father Patricio Antonio Gallego, Melba Gallego (Pascacio), Gloria Gallego (Luis Eduardo "Lalo"), Amador De Jesus Gallego (Celia), and Luis Fernando Gallego (Gloria). He will also be forever remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Reinaldo was born in Abejorral, a small village in Medellin, Colombia on July 14, 1948 to the late Ulpiano "Tano" Gallego and late Cayetana "Tana" Cifuentes. He was one of twenty-one children, and although the family was large, they were always very close. He is now reunited in heaven with his parents, brothers, and sisters who've preceded him.
Reinaldo was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and nature. He was a business owner, who worked tirelessly to provide his immediate and extended family a better life. He was a man of relentless faith and was a living testament that miracles happen. He was passionate, thoughtful, humorous, talented, and immensely generous. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A viewing is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, located at: 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL; where his brother, Father Patricio Gallego will officiate mass at 2 p.m.
