Reida Crane, 87, of Longwood, passed away Monday, September 9, 2014. She was born on September 28, 1927 in Warsaw, Poland. She came to the United States when she was 4 years old. Reida is survived by her daughter Ellyn Gordon Laskey, her son- in-law Mitchel J. Laskey, four grandchildren, Carly Laskey, Jared Laskey, Melissa Laskey Villaveces and her husband Felipe, Adam Laskey and his wife Leslie; 3 great grandchildren, Gavin Laskey, Hudson Laskey, and Lincoln Villaveces; her three sisters, brother, nieces and nephews.
She grew up in New York, moving to Miami, FL. where she was married to both her first and second husbands now both deceased. She was a wonderful mother to Ellyn and always sacrificed to be sure her daughter had everything she needed. Reida was a waitress for most of her life in New York and Miami. She once won the award for "Best and Prettiest waitress on Miami Beach".
In 1983 Reida moved to Central Florida to be with Ellyn and the family. For many years she owned and operated a successful deli in Maitland, FL. named aptly "Reida's Coffee Shoppe". She spent much her time involved with her four grandchildren providing them the love and support of a wonderful Grandmother as they each grew into the successful adults. She was also fortunate to witness the birth of three amazing great grandchildren.
A private family memorial service is scheduled for September 18, 2014 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, FL.
