89, of South Pasadena, took the hand of the Lord and passed from this earth Friday, July 19 th ,
2024 after a short time under hospice care. Her sons were by her side.
Born in Clarkesville, GA. July 31 st ,1934, she later moved to the Atlanta area at 17 years of age to
live with a relative and to "see more of the world!" There she met L.W. Duren and they were married
May 16 th , 1953. In 1957, they moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. to start their family and then built a home in
the Bahama Shores neighborhood. They resided there 30 years until 1993 and then moved to
Harbourside Condominium in South Pasadena. She lost the love of her life, L.W., in 2016, after 63 years
of marriage. In 2023, after 30 years in her wonderful condo filled with beautiful friends and neighbors,
sunsets every night, and family visits, Reba decided to move to American Home, assisted living facility in
St. Petersburg. Here she quickly established herself as a caring, giving soul to her new friends and
neighbors, and there too, she'll be sorely missed.

Reba loved playing tennis, mostly at the St. Petersburg Tennis Center, loved to travel around the
country with her family and later with friends, and picking up antiques here and there that she liked. She
also started a small business in the 80's with a friend that they named "Pride-n-Joy", a service that
cleaned and maintained condos and homes for many northern owners. She developed many life-long
friendships with these "customers" and finally gave up her last customer at the age of 80.
Reba and L.W. were instrumental in starting the Bay Vista Church of Christ in south St.
Petersburg and then supporting the construction of that building on 7 th street south. After moving to
Harbourside, they later moved back to the Northwest Church of Christ that they had first attended upon
moving to Florida. Reba loved the church and served in many capacities there. She attended bible
classes there at the building and co-founded a weekly bible class at Harbourside which continues today.
Reba always had a friendly smile, a giving heart and a kind word, that many will always cherish. In the
end, Reba's bible was propped up against her chair within arms reach where she kept it. She loved the
Lord.

Reba was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be deeply missed but
we know that she is now at peace and reunited with L.W., in a better place and together, and they're
even closer to the Lord that they both loved and worshipped.

Reba was preceded in death by the husband, L.W., Mother Cordelia and Father Leonard and 4
siblings. She is survived by her sons Gary and David (Nancy). She was grandmother to Al (Mindy), Maxx
(Amanda), Edward, Parker and Christian and great grandmother to Reid, Wells, Braxxton, Jaxxson, Tiara,
Maya and Junior.

Celebration of life services will be held Friday, September 13 th , 2024 at 10 A.M. at the Northwest
Church of Christ, 6355 38 th Ave. No., St. Petersburg, Fla. 33710

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Northwest Church of Christ or Suncoast
Hospice.
