Raymond Alan Long
April 21, 1946 - January 19, 2015

Beloved husband of Ann C. (Connors) Long of Mashpee, MA and Leesburg, FL passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, in Florida due to complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Raymond was the son of the late Paul E. and Carolyn R. Long and the stepson of the late Helen B. Long. He is survived by his three children: Carol A. Sanderlin, her husband Brant, and their two daughters Julie and Emily of Smyrna, GA; Susan M. Reid, her husband Thomas, and their two daughters Kaitlyn and Maggie of Temecula, CA; Steven A. Long, his wife Brenda, and their daughter Maura Claire of North Attleboro, MA; as well as his brother Paul E. Long Jr, his wife Lorraine of Holbrook, MA; and his sister Natalie D. Mahar, her husband John of South Dennis, MA. Raymond was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law Irene Long. Raymond was born and raised in Holbrook, MA. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the Navy as a Seabee before being honorably discharged in 1969. Raymond and Ann ran a successful tool rental business,Waco Equipment, in West Yarmouth until retiring in 1999. Raymond was a generous and talented craftsman, who was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family, even as he battled his own illness. An avid reader, Raymond had a dry wit, and enjoyed fishing, boating and sports. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Ann. Together they ran Waco for more than 20 years and then traveled together in retirement. They were inseparable. Raymond will be missed by all that knew him. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015, at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Mashpee, MA from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Mashpee at 10:00 am. The burial will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
