Ramond "Earl" Godwin, 75, of Orlando, FL lost his battle with cancer and died peacefully on August 11, 2017. Earl was born and raised in Orlando, Florida to parents Elmer & Mary Godwin. He experienced all the growth of Orlando from orange groves, dirt roads and favorite swimming holes to the mega metropolis of today.
His career spanned 42 years combining engineering, development and design all for Sardee Industries of Orlando, and retiring from there as General Manager.

An avid motorcycle owner, rider and builder he was a member of Harley Owners Group of Orlando and proudly rode over 1 million miles in his lifetime.

As the saying goes – "I'm a cowboy on a steel horse I ride". Earl had another passion his real horse, Cherokee, with whom he rode as part of the Orange County Mounted Posse division as a deputy sheriff back in the 60's catching cattle poachers on the St. John's River areas. Complete with badge, Stetson hat and weapon (I think he kept the bullets in his pocket) he rode with the Sheriff's Department for about two years when his family suggested he not quit his day job.

His love of designing and creating did not stop with motorcyles. He also built a luxury 1933 Duesenberg Kit Car, which was a favorite sight out front of Rosie O' Grady's Church Street Station in the mid 70's.

His jovial sense of humor, friendly personality, combined with his love of life, will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by son Mike Godwin (Susan), daughter Michelle Flint, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and sister Marsha Southcot, brother Ronnie Godwin and beloved fiance' Caroline Farnham.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Central Parkway Baptist Church located at 5281 Central Florida Parkway, Orlando 32821, www.cpbcorlando.com .
