Obituary

Raymond Anthony Giraud, Jr. was born January 17, 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ray left this earth at age 44 on May 5, 2017 at Florida Hospital East in Orlando, FL. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Marie Giraud and their two children Alexis Rae Giraud (16) and Colin Matthew Giraud (14). He is also survived by his parents Raymond Anthony Giraud Sr. and Magda Giraud and siblings Madeleine Giraud O'Callahan and Raul E. Giraud; his three nieces Angele O'Callahan, Brynn O'Callahan and Mila O'Callahan, brother-in-law Matthew O'Callahan and countless other family and friends. Ray was raised in Union Park, where he would meet his high school sweetheart, Sylvia. They later married and raised two beautiful children, Alexis and Colin. Ray loved surfing, grilling, cooking and music but his favorite love was spending time with his family and always making everyone laugh. No matter where Ray was, he was always the life of the party with his wit and sarcasm. As an avid classic movie lover, he could quote movie lines in an instant to fit the moment. His favorite college team has always been Florida State, so he was elated when he found out his niece would be attending FSU this past year. One of his favorite activities was watching football or basketball with his family, most especially his son Colin. Along with every game, he also enjoyed cooking with his favorite sous chef, his daughter Alexis. Although Ray could make anyone laugh, the person he made laugh the most was Sylvia, from the many times he stubbed his toe or poking fun at his kids and nieces. Another of Ray's favorite pastimes with his family were his many vacations to St. Augustine, Siesta Key, and Cocoa Beach, which typically culminated with a festive meal at the likes of Dixie Crossroads, Old Salty Dog, or Fishlips. Ray will live on in the hearts of all knew him.
