Obituary

Raymond Joseph Cheney, 90, was born in Lockport , NY on Sep 1, 1926 and passed away
peacefully in his Orlando home surrounded by his loving family on Dec 31, 2016.

He is survived by his beloved and loving wife of 64 years, Betty, his seven children, Cindy Hewitt (Mt Dora), Dorothea Scott (Sun Valley, Id) Raymond Jr. (Vale, Co), Andrea (Tampa, FL), David (Gainesville, FL), Robert (Orlando, FL), Dan (Orlando, FL), and nine grandchildren. One of 14 siblings, his only remaining sister, Jean Sullivan, (Newfane, NY) survives him.

Ray and his four older brothers were WWII veterans. At the age of seventeen, with his father's
permission, Ray enlisted in the Navy and served valiantly for four years. Upon completion of basic- training he was deployed to the South Pacific serving on the USS Sterett and the USS Leyte.

After being honorably discharged, he earned his BSEE degree, married, and in 1955 moved his young family to Orlando, FL where he subsequently established RJC Associates, a manufacturers' representative organization.

Ray's memorial mass will be held in Saint Margaret Mary's Chapel, Winter Park on Saturday, January
21, 10:30 a.m.
