After a long battle with cancer, Cpl. Ralph Grant Straight passed away at his home on June 20, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 yrs., Laurie. Only child, Amanda (Brandon), and only grandchild Riley Grant. Ralph always considered himself a blessed man. Also survived by his amazing sisters Shirley Prentiss (Richard) and Doris Parker (Byron).
Ralph served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he then served and protected his community as a Deputy Sheriff for 39 yrs. in Pinellas County where he was born and raised.
Besides being a devoted and loving husband, father and Pa-Pa. His passion was music. Ralph and his beloved Stratocaster "Lucy" have performed 100's of shows with his band "The Straightup Blues Band". He also was a talented singer and songwriter who has written, recorded and performed too many songs to count.
Ralph was always supported by family, friends and exceptional neighbors.
As he would say, "This is my last Gig".
