Ralph Baker was born February 11,1938 to the late Carrie Lancaster and William Henry Baker, Sr. Born and raised in Linden, N.J. Ralph spent most of his time in Roselle, N.J. He was an active community member with Roselle Pop Warner and Roselle recreation leagues. He loved his red and gray Rams.
Ralph married Adele Baker and from that union they had five daughters Wanda Baker (preceded in death) Shona Baker Rickerson of Poinciana, Fl, Shelley Baker of Groveland, Fl, Carmen Baker (preceded in death), Ellen Baker of Maplewood, NJ. Later in life he went on to marry Barbara Baker and from that union came Dana Baker of Elizabeth, NJ and Raphiela Baker of Longwood, FL.
He was a former member of Mt. Moriah Baptist church in Linden, N.J. for many years and then became a member of Heards AME Church in Roselle, N.J. Ralph served in the United States Air Force. Once completing his service too his country Ralph became a butcher for many years for several grocery chains. He retired as a butcher and started working for Roselle Board of Education as a security guard. Several years later Ralph moved to Florida in the year 2000.
He leaves to mourn his sister Hilda Porter of Marrietta, GA.; his brothers Lemuel "Obie", Fletcher "DD", William "Bro" Baker Jr., and Rosetta Baker York. Ralph also leaves to cherish fond memories to nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, 17-grandchildren and 30 great great grand children.
