Command Sargent Major (Retired) Rafael Santiago, age 92, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on October 9, 2021. Rafael was born on April 10, 1929 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, the son of Agapito Santiago and Patricia Lopez.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria Nilda Santiago; sons: Luis Santiago, Edwin (Yolanda) Santiago, Larry (Mark Hoppert) Santiago, and Roberto (Elizabeth) Santiago; daughters: Carmen (Luis) Diaz, Mary (Kevin Goddard) Santiago, Bibiana Santiago, and Anita (Peter) Vassos; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Rafael served 30 years in the U.S. Army, including tours in Korea and Vietnam.
