Rafael Luis Hernandez-Ramos, age 67 years, of Casselberry, Florida, passed away on December 2, 2020. Rafael was born on July 7, 1953, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, the son of Abelardo Hernandez and Angelica Ramos.

He is survived by his loving wife Ivette Hernandez, his son Rafael Hernandez Jr., his daughter Ivelisse M. Hernandez, granddaughter Jaida Hernandez, and brothers Abelardo Hernandez Jr., Jose Hernandez, and Harry Hernandez along with many nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Rafael was a very proud U.S. Army veteran and often spoke about his time in the service. He worked hard his entire adult life to provide for his family. He worked as a truck driver for many years and eventually moved on to being a trailer mechanic until his retirement in January 2020. Although many would say that Rafael was a workaholic, he also knew how to let loose and have a good time. He was always the life of the party and the jokester that brought smiles and continuous laughter to everyone that was around him. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family, and watching football with a cold beer in hand.

Rafael was also a doting husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was loved and adored by all who knew him and his absence will be deeply felt.

Due to Covid, the family has planned a private service that will be held at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 905 S. Laurel Avenue, Sanford, FL at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 19, 2020.
