Quong "Ming" Moy August 14, 1923 - February 04, 2015 Resident of Champions Gate, FL passed away in his sleep while at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL. Ming was born in Canton, China and immigrated to the United States (New York Ellis Island) at the age of 9.
He served in WWII in the United States Army in 1943-1945 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal and the Bronze Star for bravery. He's been very proud of his service and commitment to his country. After the war he went back to China and married Ng Yuk Ling. They had a daughter, Gar Bing who was born in China but his wife & daughter were not able to join him in the United States until many years later where they lived in Chinatown, NY.
He will forever be remembered by his four other children and their spouses Jing (Natalie), Lynan (Mitch), Tiffiny (Rafael), and Dania (Ronald), treasured grandchildren (Janni, Stanford, Stella, Christina, Anthony, Ian, Jaden, Ashley, Sydney, Christina Marie and Samantha), and great-grandchildren (Michaiah and Oliver), along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Ming lived in Jamaica Estates, NY for 39 years. His many interests included enjoying good food with family & friends, gardening, baseball and martial arts. He was a very committed member of the NYC Masonic Temple Lodge for 50 years and is a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. He is very proud of the organization and wears his pin and displays his fez proudly.
Ming touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained a trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday February 7, 2015 at 11-2pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 9001 N. Orlando Avenue Maitland, FL 32751 407-695-2273 (CARE). The family requests that in lieu of flowers that all donations be sent to the 2 charities closest to his heart: The Wounded Warrior Project and/or Shriners Hospitals for Children
