Phillip Raphael Stephan, age 82, of Winter Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

Phil was born April 22, 1941, in East Cleveland, Ohio, to Inez and Charles Stephan. A Florida resident since he was 17 years old, Phil met and married his wife Judy (ne Servo) in Miami in 1970.

A veteran of 31 years, Phil honorably served in the U.S. Navy, Naval Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve. Phil was also an ardent Miami sports fan and season ticket holder for the historic Miami Dolphins' 1972 Perfect Season and attended many iconic Miami Hurricanes football games during the 1980s.

But Phil was equally pleased to relax at home with a glass of Lambrusco or watch a hockey game and enjoy dinner with family. He was thoughtful, generous, and an engaging conversationalist with a kind tone, wit, and mastery of puns that endeared anyone fortunate enough to be in his audience.

More importantly, Phil was a good and honest man, a devoted husband and partner to Judy for 53 years, a loving and supportive father to his son Jordan, a doting grandfather to Sienna and Gina, and an admired uncle by many nieces and nephews. Everybody loved Phil, and he will be dearly missed.

Phil is survived by his wife Judy, son Jordan, daughter-in-law Amanda, granddaughters Sienna and Gina, grandson Rusty, and brothers Lloyd, Mike, and Chris Stephan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on December 26, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (or 4 p.m.) at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751. Burial will take place on December 27, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513.
