Obituary

Phoel, Philip R. �Rick�
77, of St. Petersburg, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014. Born in Staten Island, NY to the late Philip & Mildred Phoel, he served in the US Army from 1955-58. He became a NYCPD in the early 60�s and transferred to the FDNY while working on Fireboats. He worked for the Firehouse Engine Company 161 in South Beach until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Phoel was a Member of The Retirees of Staten Island FDNY. He maintained membership with the American Legion and the NRA. He enjoyed biking, fishing and gardening upon his retirement to FL in 1989. He is survived by a loving wife, Judith, of St. Petersburg. He is also survived by two children and 1 granddaughter, in addition to nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice. Memorial service will be Sunday, January 19th at 1 PM at the funeral home.
