Peter R Sorel, age 97, of Sanford, FL passed away on November 2, 2016. Born on May 14th 1919, Peter was a long time resident of Springfield the son of the late Peter J. and Laura D. (Roy) Sorel. Peter served his country proudly during WWII "The Greatest Generation".

Peter is survived by his children Debra Dalton, Michael (Diane) and David (Selina) Sorel. Peter is also survived by his sister Irene Marren-Bancroft; grandchildren Sean, Michael Jr, Jonathon (Alicia), Brian, James III, Stephanie, Brittany, Nathan and Nicholas; great-grandchildren Carter, Harper, Abigail and Marco and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, daughter Pamela, son Peter Jr., sisters Beatrice and Theresa, brother George and great-grandson Joshua.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 with Calling Hours from 11:00am-1:00pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm at the funeral home followed by burial with military honors at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
