Obituary

Peggy Deane Whitescarver (nee Wells), age 85, of Belle Isle, Florida, passed away on January 6, 2021 in Orlando, Florida, from Alzheimer's and dementia.

Peggy was born on July 10, 1935 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Catherine Louise Wells (nee, Tennes) and Chris Doyle Wells. She married Carrell David Whitescarver on February 19, 1955 at North Dayton Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. They were married for over 65 years. They had one son David Scott. Peggy was a member of Gateway Church (formerly Killarney Baptist Church) in Winter Park, Florida for over 57 years since 1963. She graduated from Northridge High School in Dayton, Ohio.

Peggy is survived by husband Carrell David Whitescarver of Belle Isle, Florida, son David Scott of Orlando, Florida and his wife Shelley Jean (nee Hill), and grandson Scott Warren of Belle Isle, Florida. In addition, she is survived by brothers Freddy Doyle Wells of West Carrolton, Ohio and Danny Lee Wells of Tipp City, Ohio. Also, Aunt Peggy is survived by nieces Belinda Jean Mueller (nee O'Dell) of Des Plaines, Illinois, Tammi Lynn Wells of Troy, Ohio, Lou Ann Kovacs (nee Wells) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Teresa Ann Wells of Dayton, Ohio, Danielle Louise McRoberts (nee Wells) of Severeville, Tennessee, and Mandy Wells of Moraine, Ohio. She is survived by nephews Robert Steven O'Dell of Galena, Ohio, Matthew Wells of Hillsboro, Ohio, Todd Wells of St. Petersburgh, Florida, Larry James Wiley of Tennessee, Danny Lee Wells Jr. of Covington, Ohio, Jerome Lawrence Hirt II of Tipp City, Ohio, and Doyle Wells of Apple Creek, Ohio.

Peggy is predeceased by her father Chris Doyle Wells, mother Catherine Louise Wells (nee Tennes), sister Beverly Louise Hirt (nee Wells), brother Richard Ray Wells, and sister Clara Nell Wells.

In addition to Owensboro, Kentucky, Peggy had residence in:
Frankfort, Indiana
Dayton, Ohio
West End, New Jersey
Perry, Maryland,
Las Cruces, New Mexico
Phoenix, Arizona
Gainesville, Florida
Winter Park, Florida
Belle Isle, Florida

Peggy had a love for the arts and especially a lifelong love of music. She played clarinet at North Ridge High School and lettered in the band. She was in the choir of the Messiah Choral Society's presentation of Handel's Messiah for five years from 1974 to 1978. In addition, she took many years of piano lessons during her adult life. She painted a great deal with oils.

Peggy was involved for many years with Research and Development Organization for Spouses (REOS) at Martin Marietta. She was a room mother for her son's class during all of his years at Shenandoah Elementary and was a member of the PTA.

Peggy loved dogs throughout her life and at different times owned a cocker spaniel (Coco), two miniature poodles (Princess and Precious), and an American Eskimo (Angel). Peggy enjoyed the outdoors with camping, fishing, boating, and sail boating. She enjoyed watching baseball and especially her favorite team the Cincinnati Reds.

Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her brother Danny summed up Peggy with she always wanted to organize something for everyone to have a good time. She tried to make ordinary things special. Like sledding and hot chocolate after, or go boating and having a picnic built in, making it a big deal especially as a kid. That's how I think of her. Her nephew JL remarked of her passing as very sad news here on earth indeed, but heaven gained a great angel.

Peggy's passing will leave a great void in many hearts. We long to see her again.
