                                                                                      A Life Well Lived

Pearl was born in Clarksburg, California on March 3, 1932 to John and Frieda Hofer. Pearl passed away on October 15, 2026 in Snellville, Georgia surrounded by love and memories of a life devoted to family, faith, and service to others. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frieda; her two sisters, Ruby and Janice;her husband, Bill; and her son, Jeff, whom she held forever in her heart.

Pearl grew up in Sacramento, California with her mom, Frieda, her older sister Ruby and younger sister Janice. She attended Sacramento High School and after graduation Pearl met the love of her life, Bill Fahey, at Hale Bros Department Store where she worked in Sacramento. They were married on New Year’s Eve in 1951.Bill was drafted into the Marine Corps during the Korean War and they lived two years at Camp Pendleton in San Diego. On Bill’s birthday in 1952, they welcomed their first child, William Kelly, Jr. Over the next 13 years, Bill and Pearl welcomed sons Jeffrey and James and daughters Elizabeth, Marguerite, Jennifer and Maureen.Bill and Pearl shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family traditions, and countless cherished memories.

Pearl lived in many places throughout her life, including numerous cities in California, Hawaii and West Bend, Wisconsin before ultimately calling Longwood, Florida her home for over 50 years. Wherever life took her, her heart was always with her family, who were the greatest joy and blessing in her life.

Pearl had a special gift for making others feel loved and cared for. She freely gave her time, her talents, and her heart to the people around her, always willing to do whatever she could to help someone in need. Her love was not simply expressed in words, but in the countless thoughtful things she did for others throughout her life.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Pearl devoted herself to her church and the Council of Catholic Women, especially St. Joan of Arc Circle. She generously shared her creativity and talents, spending countless hours on the crafts she lovingly made for the church’s fall festival.

Pearl had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening in her many yards. Her gardens were always picturesque and beautiful. She passed her love of plants on to her children and grandchildren. She could grow almost anything from seeds or cuttings and moved prized plants from home to home. Pearl loved the tranquility of being outside in nature.

Pearl was also an amazing cook who created dishes from so many different cultures. No doubt she could have been a chef at any five star restaurant with her culinary talents. Family gatherings were always a special treat.

She was a gifted seamstress; sewing each of her daughters’ wedding gowns, beautiful dance costumes, christening gowns and unique outfits. Her eye for fashion was legendary, and her modeling skill at fashion shows was always sought after.

Pearl especially loved Christmas, a season that reflected so much of what she cherished—family gathered together, traditions passed down through generations, and the joy of making special memories with the people she loved most. She draped her homes in beautiful decorations and the holiday dinners were always a feast for the family.

She loved all animals—especially her dogs: Tupper, Tuffy, V, and her last pet,Victor—along with so many cats over the years. She pampered them and they returned their love to her. She adopted older pets so she would not leave them alone if she passed away first. Little did she know she would outlive all but one!

Pearl was an avid Florida State University and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football fan - never missing watching her beloved Noles and Bucs on TV or in person earlier in her life. She so enjoyed two of her daughters and two of her granddaughters graduating from Florida State University.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward: her sons, Bill, and Jim (Brenda) Fahey; her daughters: Betsy Renninger, Meg Fahey,Jennifer (Mark) Peterson, and Maureen (Jack) Bloomingdale. Her legacy continues through her 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as MomMom and Mommo. She also leaves behind loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, plus numerous nieces and nephews, who all have fond memories of her.

To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Pearl was so much more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a source of comfort, generosity, wisdom, and unconditional love. Though her family will deeply miss her, the love Pearl shared will never be lost. It lives on in the lessons she taught, the talents she shared, and the many lives she touched. Her legacy is reflected in the large and loving family she leaves behind, and in the countless ways she made the world a little warmer and kinder.

May she rest in eternal peace.
