Obituary

Paul David "Stinker" Tondini, 74, passed away on December 17, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. Born on October 26, 1951, in Fairfield, Illinois, Paul lived a life marked by service, laughter, and deep devotion to his family and country.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Paul volunteered to go to Vietnam twice and was stationed in Germany numerous times throughout his military career. Rising to the rank of E6, he embodied the values of duty and patriotism that remained central to his identity long after his time in uniform. His commitment to fellow veterans continued through his active involvement with the VFW and American Legion, where he contributed his time and energy to support community events and activities. His dedication was matched only by the camaraderie he shared with those who served alongside him.

Paul's personality was as vibrant as it was unforgettable. Known affectionately by many as "Stinker," he had a mischievous spirit and a comical, sarcastic sense of humor that could light up any room. His quick wit brought joy to countless gatherings, and his larger-than-life presence left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He enjoyed spending his time fishing, cruising, and grilling for family and friends, always happiest when surrounded by good company—including his beloved dogs, Elvis and Scruffy. He was also proud to give back by helping with activities at the VFW and American Legion, where his dedication and camaraderie were deeply appreciated. These passions reflected his love for fellowship, service, and the simple joys of life.

Above all else, Paul was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Christine Parker of Mt. Airy, NC; Angela Aarons (Jason) of Fernandina Beach, FL; and Jessica Flores (Luis) of Orlando, FL; and his partner Barbara Strelauski of Orlando, FL.

Paul's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Josh White, Raina Bateman (Austin), and Christopher Parker; Mitchell Aarons and Kaitlyn Aarons; Zachary Flores, Aidan Flores, Dominick Flores, and Isabella Flores. His great-grandchildren—Santiago Parker; Orion Bateman; Charlotte Acosta-Aarons; —carry forward the joy he brought into their lives.

He is also survived by his sister Flossie Tondini of Fairfield, IL; his brother Robert Tondini of Fairfield, IL; sister Rose Westmoreland of Windsor, CA; sister Carol Love of Cloverdale, CA; sister Donna Tondini of Moosup, CT; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who cherished their time with him.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved grandson Alexander Aarons; father Michael M. Tondini; mother Mary Helen Blackburn; brother Mike Tondini; sisters Lois Matthews and Shirley Tondini Sullivan.

Though he has departed this world, Paul's memory will live on through the stories shared around dinner tables with a cold Budweiser—the laughter echoing from past jokes told with perfect timing—and the enduring love felt by those fortunate enough to have known him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and strength to carry forward the values he held dear: loyalty to family, service to country, and joy in every moment shared together.

There will be a small celebration of life at VFW 2093 on Friday, December 19th at 1 pm. There will be a larger celebration of life at the annual Tondini Family Reunion on August 2, 2026.
