Paul J. Klaus, Jr. of Maitland, Florida, passed away gently into the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, December 14, 2018. Paul was born in Rochester, New York on December 3, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Paul J. Klaus, Sr. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Judy, their children, Kimberly Klaus Schmitt (C. Scott Schmitt), Maitland, Florida, and Paul Aaron Klaus (Jennifer Moniz), San Diego, California, and 5 grandchildren, Madeline Schmitt, Julia Schmitt, Charlie Schmitt, Oliver Klaus, and Charlotte Klaus who brought him so many warm smiles. His siblings are Margaret Breslow, Roger Klaus, Randy Klaus, and Laurie Latragna with their spouses, children, and grandchildren who honor Paul's legacy. He graduated from St. Monica's Catholic School, McQuaid Jesuit High School, John Carroll University, and Rollins College. He proudly served in the United States Army and Army Reserves Forces. The Insurance industry brought Paul and Judy to Central Florida in 1971, then to Westfield Center, Ohio in 2001, and back to Central Florida in 2011, where he retired in 2017. Many life-long relationships with Central Florida and Ohio clients were built throughout his dedicated career. It was at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, where Judy and Paul first met and then married in Sandusky, Ohio on July 1, 1967. 51+ years of fond and interesting memories unfolded with many rounds of golf, youth soccer coaching, cheers for Florida Gators, strong friendships, and many family joys. A funeral Mass and commemoration of Paul's life will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. in the chapel at St. Margaret Mary Church, 526 N. Park Ave., Winter Park, Florida where Paul felt privileged to be a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick and share his deep faith. Following the service, all are welcomed to join our family's celebration for Paul at a reception in the church's Family Life Center. In Lieu of flowers, Paul and Judy encourage donations be gifted to "The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation", 1615 L. St. NW #430, Washington, D.C., 20036/ Mary Hesdorffer, Executive Director, who guided and supported us throughout this journey.
